I don’t know if anyone saw my posts about changing just my WordPress url? Well actually I’ve decided to move to Blogger and I bought my own domain. I saw that GoDaddy was having a sale on domains, so of course I had to jump on it. I purchased http://www.honeyhale.com. It’s a kinda scary making this move. Because I’ve already found out the things that Blogger doesn’t have that WordPress does. As far as I can tell, there isn’t a tagging community like WordPress has. So I’ll have to find sponsors so I can get the word of my blog out there. It’s going to be a challenge but I wanna do it. I really like that I can change my template around more on Blogger than I can on WordPress. I’m sorry but I don’t have the money to upgrade to Premium. I really hope you guys come and follow me on Blogger. You can just follow me through Bloglovin’ if you want. I’ve even set it up so you can follow me through Google. I’m already following some of you through Bloglovin’ so I can keep up with you. Bloglovin’ is such an easy way to follow blogs on every platform. I hope you come with me on this journey!
Yep that’s right. I’m doing my own “best of” lists. Mainly because the popular lists never have what I love in them. Hopefully if all goes well, I’ll be doing more lists like this. Well “top 10” lists that is. (Please check them all out. I know it’s a long length of lists but there is some really good stuff in here!)
Best Movies of 2014 (in order of my honest opinion)
Movies in 2014 I Wish I Had Seen
Best New TV Shows of 2014
I would just like to say, I’m still upset that Chelsea Handler and Craig Ferguson both ended their late night shows this year. I miss you both on my tv every night. But I’m excited for what James Corden is going to bring to The Late, Late Show!
I’m so sorry that I abandoned this blog for the past several months. I went through a bad break up. It was only bad because I was an utter complete mess afterwards. I didn’t want to try to post anything on here were I might regret it afterwards. I try to keep this blog somewhat respectable and clean (compared to my tumblr where I let myself be free and open). Once I decided I was okay to post on wordpress again, I kinda wanted to wait until the new year. A fresh restart. But I wanted to do one last post of 2014. Give a small recap of what has happened the past few months and what I hope for in 2015.
On Sunday my dad and I went to Boston’s Comic Con. It was our first time. I’ve been wanting to go for a little while but I was kinda worried because I wasn’t sure what to expect. You see everything about San Diego Comic Con and it always looked like a little too much for me to handle. But I wish I could go because that’s where every television show and movie go to.
At least I got to go to BCC this year. There was one reason why I HAD to go…Captain Jack….I mean John Barrowman. If you don’t know who John Barrowman is, he’s a Scottish-American actor/singer/dancer/everything else. He played Captain Jack Harkness on Doctor Who and the DW spinoff show Torchwood. He currently plays Malcolm Merlyn on Arrow.
I loved meeting John. Even though it was only for a few seconds and I had to stand in line for an hour and a half, it was still awesome. I wish I could have hugged him in our photograph but my dad wanted to join the shot, so no hug. But what I loved most was that John pulled us in close. No other celebrity or sports player has ever pulled me in close. *side note, I haven’t ever posted a full body shot of me on here…so for those who don’t know, I’m a big girl.* Usually anyone I pose with for a photograph, they barely touch me. I always feel like I’m the most disgusting human being after posing. John is photographed with hundreds, thousands of people every week but for those ten seconds, he made me feel special. That’s what I love about him. He makes every person he comes in contact with (even for just a second) feel special. He’s truly one of a kind.
I also got these pretty cool name tags. My girlfriend and I love Orange is the New Black so I had to get us Piper & Alex. I HAD to get a Ten & Rose name tags too. It was a must! Since they were 1/$5 or 5/$20, I had to get one more. So I had to get a Captain Jack. I wish I could have gotten a Ianto Jones one too (so all my couples could be complete) but I didn’t want to spend more money. I wish it had been 6/$20. I wanna find out if I can get these name tags somewhere.
The costumes were pretty awesome. There were so many doctors but it was kinda annoying that everyone just dressed up as Eleven. Well there was a Four too. But I just wanted so many Nines and Tens. There was even a Rose Tyler from The Idiot’s Lantern. I wish I could have gotten a photo with her. I was too intimidated to ask for a photograph with any cosplayers. There was even a Carl Fredricksen and (a female) Russell from Up. They weren’t together but they were there. A few Elsas and Annas from Frozen. A group of Ghostbusters. There was a Jessica Rabbit. Inspector Gadget. Two boys dressed up as Ash and Misty from Pokemon. There was a Captain Jack. Oh and I think Cas from Supernatural. I don’t know, I’ve never watched that show. That guy from Breaking Bad. A few Jokers and Batmen. And so many more!
I don’t know if I’ll ever go to Comic Con again. Only because it’s too many people crammed into one room and they move at turtle speed or spot and talk in the middle of the way. I’m not really claustrophobic, only when it comes to times like that. But I had fun. I’m glad I got to meet John Barrowman.
I’m so sorry I haven’t posted much this past weekend. I know I missed the daily posts for Friday and Sunday. I also missed Friday Favorites and I wanted to start Sunday Sweets & Smiles. But I’ve been pretty miserable all weekend. I’ve been suffering from canker sores. I know, sounds weird. But I have a handful of them right now that are just making me feel awful. I haven’t done much this weekend. I kinda just wanted to be left alone only so I wouldn’t have to talk. It hurts to talk sometimes (although I’d gladly suffer through that pain to talk to my girlfriend). I can’t laugh or smile because that hurts. And if you know me at all, you’ll know that I love to do both a lot.
Once I heal from these bastard cankers, I’m gonna try my hardest to change my diet. I need to stop eating acidic foods. I want to try the paleo diet but I don’t know if I can. Only because I don’t think we can get grass fed meat around here. But I’m going to do some research tomorrow.
I’ll try to answer tomorrow’s daily prompt and do a mixtape. Or just blog about music. Again I’m sorry for the lack of posts this weekend. I want to try to keep this a daily active blog.
For the past five years or so, the Civic Center in the town next to mine has an annual Cupcake Festival. Just something for the community to do and celebrate the love that is cupcakes. This year I offered my volunteering services and helped collect tickets and pass out cupcakes. Below are some of the cupcakes that people got to enjoy. The Frozen cupcakes were delicious!
The collage below (and the pool balls, hamburger, breakfast meals & roses) are some of the cupcakes that were up for judging and were sold.
This is definitely random, at least to me. But..when did everyone start using “dime/dimes” as an adjective? As in “that girl is such a dime.” People might have said it a long time ago but all of a sudden I keep seeing it everywhere now. So when did this become a thing?
